A contemporary romantic comedy about the universal qust for that one tru love. All Over the Guy centers on an unlikely pair of two twenty-somethings, Eli (Dan Bucatinsky) and Tom (Richard Ruccolo), who are thrown together by their respective best friends. They’re both looking for ‘the one,’ but don’t recognize it when they find it. They do everything they can to not fall for each other, stumbling over their own fears, family dysfunctions and foolish bouts of self-sabotage. Their comedy of errors rolls on, with the two oblivious to what everyone else can clearly see is in their hearts. Ultimately its’ in the small moments of truth-the talk among trusted friends and the fear between new lovers-that the two find their way to a love that will last.

One of the first post-World War II films to deal with the Holocaust, BORDER STREET recreates the circumstances surrounding the doomed Warsaw Ghetto uprising, in which a small, heroic band of Jews chose to resist the Nazis rather than face deportation to Auschwitz or Treblinka. The story unfolds through the eyes of four characters who live in the same building: David and Jadzia are two Jewish youths who fight the Nazis as their only choice for survival, while gentiles Bronek and Wladek consider the occupation an insult to their Polish heritage. Aleksander Ford’s heart-wrenching film focuses on the common goals of the Poles and Jews as they stage a valiant effort to rid themselves of the Nazi menace. BORDER STREET is at once a compelling drama and a page out of history.

Originally released as This Rebel Breed, producer William Rowland revamped this racially-charged teensploitation classic by adding nudie sex scenes and re-releasing it on the exploitation circuit as Lola’s Mistake, Three Shades of Love, and Black Rebels!
Plus: Voter registration leads to Murder in Mississippi when a “cracker” Sheriff arrests white dilettante Carol Byrd and two other “Communist Yankees” for “agitating colored folks.” Though her friends are killed, Carol is kept alive as the personal sex slave of two white-trash cretins in this nasty lesson in racial intolerance from the director of Olga’s House of Shame. The 1964 murders of three civil-rights workers so appalled the nation that Hollywood waited 24 years before tackling the subject with 1988’s Mississippi Burning. Not so with this eager-to-offend exploitation gem, loosely based on the killings and geared for the grindhouse crowd, which remains profoundly disturbing today.
